Congratulations Amber Grand

From the moment she began volunteering at Solar, Amber’s impact has been transformative. Through Amber’s leadership the seeds of giving to Solar Scholars began at the girls’ school through PTO, SBDM, and Solar Cares which evolved into a huge program for food assistance, COVID relief, book character day costumes adn Santa’s giving. Though Amber’s children no longer attend Solar, Amber continues the mission she began years ago to support the whole child through meeting their daily necessities.

Partnering with Solar boys’ parent, Meghan Griffith, Amber’s leadership, grit, empathy and humility reached new heights when the 2020 food assistance program impacted over 70 Solar families for over 10 months. Through their steadfast giving and goal for an inclusive and equitable pantry where families can shop for their needs on a weekly basis, the Solar Peace Pantry was established.

Amber exemplifies the Solar Six each day as she champions Scholars and their families through providing necessities, emotional support and social engagement. She has earned the trust and respect of families in need and taught us all how to continually give with deeper compassion.
